Experienced Accountant - Business Services Expert

We are seeking an Experienced Accountant to join our team, providing expert business services to clients. This role involves a range of responsibilities, including audit, business support and outsourcing, private client services, tax consultancy, and VAT consultancy.

The ideal candidate will have ACCA qualified or partly qualified status, a degree in Accounting or Finance, and at least 3 years of practical experience in a medium or large size Accounting Firm. They should also possess extensive knowledge of accounting principles and VAT, as well as computer literacy, preferably with knowledge of CaseWare and QuickBooks.

The role requires a pleasant personality, professionalism, ability to work in a team, and willingness to work under strict reporting deadlines. The successful candidate will be highly detail-oriented and organised, with the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Posting and processing journal entries to ensure accurate recording of business transactions.
  • Recording invoices, receipts, payments, and preparing monthly bank reconciliations.
  • Preparing Debtors/Creditors reconciliations.
  • Preparing fixed asset register.
  • Ensuring proper recognition of provisions.
  • Preparing quarterly VAT reconciliations and submitting VAT returns.
  • Preparing management accounts and cashflow statements.
  • Regularly communicating with clients to resolve issues identified during accounting work.
  • Supporting and supervising Juniors and Assistants.
  • Reporting status, progress, and completion of accounting work to Seniors/Manager.
