We are looking for a results-driven
General Manager
with expertise in brokerage operations, back-office management, and regulatory compliance under EU or Cyprus law. Skilled in building strong relations with regulators and auditors, implementing risk management frameworks, and ensuring operational excellence. Experienced in leading high-performance teams and aligning cross-functional collaboration with strategic business goals.
The main tasks of this role
Operational Excellence & Back-Office Management:
- Supervise implementation of new products, procedures, and workflows.
- Oversee and optimize existing internal processes to enhance the efficiency of client services and trading operations.
- Maintain high-quality standards in brokerage service delivery and execution of trades.
- Ensure smooth operation of back-office functions including trade settlement, custody, corporate actions, reconciliations and client reporting.
- Ensure timely, accurate, and comprehensive operational, financial and ad-hoc reporting to internal stakeholders.
Regulatory Compliance & Relations:
- Ensure all brokerage operations comply with applicable regulatory requirements in all relevant jurisdictions.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with regulators and industry bodies.
- Oversee preparation and submission of regulatory reports, and supervise communication on regulatory inquiries.
- Develop and maintain relationships with auditors, external advisors and contractors and ensure their productive communication with internal compliance, legal, IT and risk functions.
- Implement group-wide policies and procedures to maintain compliance and industry best practices.
Risk Management:
- Identify, assess, and manage financial, operational, and compliance risks associated with brokerage activities.
- Implement and maintain risk management frameworks and controls.
- Assess results of risk monitoring, and take proactive measures to mitigate potential issues.
Leadership & Collaboration:
- Work closely with the CEO to execute strategic priorities and ensure team's alignment with key goals and deliverables.
- Lead and develop operational and back-office teams, fostering a compliance-cognizant, but high-performance and client-oriented culture.
- Ensure ongoing cross-functional collaboration within the company with the view of integrity and efficiency of operations.
What experience we are looking for:
- Bachelor's or Ma er's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or related field.
- Proven experience (5+ years) in senior operational or risk management roles, involving coordination of multi-functional teams within a brokerage, investment bank, or financial institution in the EU.
- Practical knowledge of equity markets and brokerage operations with transferable securities
- Solid under anding of EU regulatory requirements including, but not limited to MIFID/MIFIR, AMLD, IFR/IFD, DORA, MAR, SFTR and of their practical implications for the business of investment firms in Republic of Cyprus.
- Experience in managing client services and back-office operations, overseeing implementation and maintenance of risk and capital adequacy management frameworks, supervising general compliance, auditing and repo ing processes.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
