Job Purpose
The Payroll & Finance Assistant will support the finance function by ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll, maintaining financial records, assisting with finance tasks, and supporting compliance with internal and external financial policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Duties:
- Process monthly payroll for all Cyprus office employees in a timely and accurate manner.
- Maintain and update payroll records including new starters, leavers, changes in pay, and deductions.
- Ensure compliance with tax regulations and statutory obligations (e.g., PAYE, Social Insurance, GESY)
- Liaise with Social Insurance, Tax Authorities and other external bodies when necessary.
- Respond to employee queries related to payroll, payslips, tax codes, and other matters.
Finance Duties:
- Assist in the preparation of cash flow and financial reports.
- Maintain accurate records of all financial transactions.
- Assist with the reconciliation of payroll and other accounting related where necessary.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and year-end processes.
General Administrative Support:
- Maintain up-to-date records and filing systems (digital and physical).
- Assist in audits and provide documentation as required.
- Support the finance team in ad-hoc tasks and projects.
Key Skills & Attributes:
- Ability to handle sensitive and highly confidential information with the utmost discretion.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent numeracy and data entry skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with payroll/accounting software (e.g., SAP, Easysoft ) would be considered an advantage.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Relevant qualification in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (AAT, part-qualified ACCA/CIMA, or equivalent) is preferred.
- Minimum 2–3 years' experience in a payroll or finance-related role.
- Knowledge of local payroll legislation and finance practices.
