The role is about:

As a Business Development Manager, you will spearhead our efforts to identify and secure new business opportunities while expanding our footprint in the payments industry. Your role is crucial in driving our company's growth by developing strategic partnerships, entering new markets, and enhancing our client base with a keen focus on the unique needs of the payments sector. 

You will:

  • Strategic Market Analysis: Perform in-depth market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, opportunities, and potential markets for expansion within the payments industry. 
  • Client Acquisition Strategy: Develop and execute effective strategies for acquiring new clients, emphasizing the unique value proposition of payabl.'s payment solutions. 
  • Partnership Development: Build and maintain strategic relationships with key industry players, including merchants, payment processors, and financial institutions, to support market expansion efforts. 
  • Sales Leadership: Drive the sales process from lead generation to closure, ensuring a high conversion rate by leveraging your deep understanding of the payments ecosystem. 
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, marketing, and operations teams to align efforts, ensuring that our market expansion strategies are fully integrated with our product offerings and client service models. 
  • Market Feedback Integration: Regularly gather and analyse feedback from the market, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet evolving client needs and industry dynamics. 

What we need:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business Administration, Finance, or a related field, with a solid understanding of business strategy and market analysis.
  • At least 5 years of business development, sales, or a related role, preferably within the fintech or payments industry, with a proven record of identifying and closing new business opportunities.
  • Strong experience working with local introducers to drive market growth.
  • Demonstrated success in client acquisition and market expansion initiatives, with a focus on long-term relationships and strategic growth.
  • Deep understanding of the payments sector, including trends, regulatory frameworks, and competitive dynamics.
  • Exceptional negotiation and presentation skills, with the ability to influence key stakeholders and clearly convey value propositions.
  • Experience working in fast-paced environments and collaborating with product, marketing, and operations teams.
  • Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.
  • Willingness to travel as necessary to achieve business objectives.

Hiring Process:

First Interview: Conducted by the Talent Acquisition team min).

Second Interview: 1-hour deep-dive with the Hiring Manager, our CEO of the UK office.

Final Behavioral Interview: Focused team fit, with participation from the Head of Talent Acquisition and the CEO of the UK office (1-1.5hours).
